Where most guests will stay
Our pick for most of our guests — a boutique hotel right on the downtown West Palm Beach waterfront, and about a two-minute walk from St. Ann Catholic Church, where we'll say our vows. Wake up, wander over, and you're at the ceremony.
What you'll find
A boutique Autograph Collection hotel right on the downtown waterfront, The Ben keeps the whole weekend close: the ceremony at St. Ann is a two-minute walk, the welcome party is just downstairs in the Blue Heron Ballroom, and Clematis Street's shops and restaurants are a short stroll away.
Up top, a rooftop pool and Spruzzo — the hotel's rooftop bar and Italian restaurant — look out over Palm Harbor Marina, an easy spot for a sunset drink. Rooms are calm and comfortable, with crisp white linens and water or city views.
The night before
Join us the evening before the wedding for light bites and drinks in the Blue Heron Ballroom at The Ben — a relaxed kickoff to the weekend, just downstairs from where most of you are staying and looking out over the marina.
Where we'll celebrate
Our reception and our home base for the weekend — an oceanfront landmark that has stood on the sands of Palm Beach since 1896. We hope you'll stay here too, so the days run together: steps from the water, long dinners, slow mornings, and nowhere far to be.
A little history
Henry Flagler opened the hotel in 1896, and before long guests were asking to stay “over by the breakers,” where the waves came in — and the name stuck. Two fires, in 1903 and 1925, took the early wooden hotels, and each time it was rebuilt grander than before.
The Italian Renaissance landmark standing today opened in 1926, designed by Schultze & Weaver after the Villa Medici in Rome, its ceilings hand-painted by Florentine artisans. More than a century later it is still owned by the founder's family — one of the longest-running family-owned resorts in the country, and now a small part of our story too.
Things to do
A little Florida list for guests who want to eat well, wander a bit, and make the trip feel easy. Starred spots are couple favorites.
